I built Welmivia because the psychiatry I was trained to practice kept running out of time. Fifteen minutes is enough to renew a prescription. It is not enough to work out why a medication is not doing what it should, or what a decade of partial answers actually adds up to.
So this practice is built around the parts that get cut first. I read your records before we meet. I interpret your labs and your pharmacogenomic data rather than just ordering them. I write your Blueprint myself, and I put the reasoning in it, so you can see why each choice was made and take it to any physician who treats you next.
You will not be handed off. One physician, from the evaluation through every follow-up.
Why no insurance is billed
Insurance decides how long a visit can be, what counts as covered, and how much of the appointment goes to documenting it. None of that leaves room for 90 minutes of physician time on a single diagnosis. Direct pay is what makes this pathway possible. HSA and FSA cards are accepted, and a superbill is provided on request for out-of-network reimbursement.
Labs are ordered by Dr. Diaz and billed by the lab. Supplements are billed by Fullscript. Pharmacogenomic testing, if elected, is billed by BrightKaire. Afterpay and Affirm are available at checkout, and the internal ADHD payment split requires no application.

Before you book
How do I get tested for ADHD as an adult?Read
There is no blood test or scan for ADHD. The diagnosis is a clinical judgment about your whole history, made against criteria that must have been present in childhood. Here that means screening instruments, a dedicated 60-minute DIVA-5 structured interview scored by the physician, baseline labs and documented vitals. Neuropsychological testing is not required for most adults.
Can ADHD be diagnosed over telehealth in Virginia or Florida?Read
Yes. The history and the structured instruments are the diagnosis, and both work by secure video. Welmivia is telepsychiatry only and licensed in Virginia and Florida, so you need to be physically located in one of those two states at the time of your visits.
How much does an adult ADHD evaluation cost without insurance?Read
$1,250 flat for new patients, with a $250 deposit applied to the fee. Adding a hormonal workup brings it to $1,500. A standalone precision psychiatric evaluation is $450. Welmivia does not bill insurance, but HSA and FSA cards are accepted and a superbill can be provided for out-of-network submission.
Will I be prescribed a stimulant?Read
Stimulants are prescribed when they are indicated, and that is decided after the structured interview confirms the diagnosis and baseline cardiac risk is documented, not before. Non-stimulant options are discussed when they are the better fit. Controlled substances require a new prescription each month and cannot be refilled.
Do you take Medicare?Read
Not yet. Welmivia Access is the Medicare-billing service line for Virginia and Florida, and enrollment applications are submitted and under review. Joining the waitlist reserves your place, costs nothing, and does not schedule a visit or guarantee approval. Welmivia Access is for Medicare Part B, not Medicare Advantage.
Can I use my insurance, or get reimbursed?Read
Welmivia is a direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance. A superbill is provided on request so you can submit for out-of-network reimbursement, and HSA and FSA cards are accepted. Afterpay and Affirm are available at checkout.
I was diagnosed years ago. Do I have to start over?Read
Bring your records and they are read before your first visit. The structured interview is still completed, because prescribing has to rest on documented criteria rather than a note you no longer have. Continuing medication management on a prior diagnosis requires that the diagnosis be validated.
What if it turns out not to be ADHD?Read
That is a useful result, and it happens. Untreated sleep apnea, thyroid disease, anxiety, depression, iron deficiency and heavy substance use all produce attention problems. You still receive the written formulation and a plan for what is actually driving your symptoms.
